I just attended the American Society of Biomechanics meeting in Pittsburgh, and my poster presentation of the results of our first adaptation experiment with the robotic shoes project won the President's Choice / Best Poster award! I'm grateful to the committee for selecting me. I brought a full demo of the hardware for people to try stepping on the shoes in their various stiffness states, which was very successful for engagement with passers-by, though it also earned me a visit from the TSA explosives specialist on the flight there. I invite you to put yourself in the shoes of a TSA agent seeing the device pictured below show up in the x-ray machine.
